The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Hopgood. Robillard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Robillard tries to clinch but Hopgood is having none of it.
Hopgood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Robillard.
Hopgood dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hopgood bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Robillard ducks under a wild hook from Hopgood.
Robillard misses with a jab to the body
and Hopgood makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Robillard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robillard uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hopgood has time to react.

Robillard tries to close the distance and clinch but Hopgood swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Robillard lunges at Hopgood with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hopgood's hand.
Hopgood drops his hands momentarily and Robillard takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Robillard ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hopgood takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Robillard misses with a double jab.
Robillard throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hopgood counters with a right hand to the body.
Robillard connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hopgood. Hopgood circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Hopgood takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Robillard stuffs the takedown attempt from Hopgood. Hopgood gets slowly back to his feet.
Robillard tries to clinch there but Hopgood circles away.
Hopgood shoots for a double leg takedown but Robillard sprawls well. He's pushed Hopgood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hopgood gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Michel Robillard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopgood stuns Robillard with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
It looks like Robillard has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Hopgood misses with a looping right.
Robillard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hopgood manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hopgood cracks Robillard with an open hand slap.
It looks like Michel Robillard has been cut.

Robillard throws a right and a left that Hopgood avoids nicely.
Robillard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice takedown defense from Robillard. No joy for Hopgood on that attempt.
Michel Robillard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oreo Hopgood.

Robillard is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Robillard scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Robillard throws out a loose jab but Hopgood uses good head movement to avoid it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Robillard swings widly with a right hand
and Hopgood counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Robillard down! Hopgood is looking to finish but Robillard is intelligently defending himself.
Robillard is rocked!
Hopgood stands up over Robillard, holding on to his feet. Hopgood throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Robillard is out cold! Hopgood lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Oreo Hopgood! Oreo Hopgood retains his light heavyweight title!
