Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erasmo Vale Queiroz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bo Duran!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Vale Queiroz. Duran does a little dance to reset his feet.
Duran lands with a nice body punch.
Duran misses with a body shot
and Vale Queiroz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Duran throws a poor cross that misses
and Vale Queiroz counters with a nice body kick.
Vale Queiroz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Duran misses the shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duran misses with a lunging right hand
and Duran takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Vale Queiroz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Duran counters with a body kick.

Duran on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Vale Queiroz counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Bo Duran has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Vale Queiroz throws a hook but Duran avoids it easily.
A nice side step and Duran releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Duran throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Duran misses with a hook
and Vale Queiroz counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A bone on bone clash there as Duran blocks the leg kick.
Duran let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Duran throws out a loose jab but Vale Queiroz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vale Queiroz scores with a body shot.
Duran throws a right and a left that Vale Queiroz avoids nicely.
Duran finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Vale Queiroz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

It looks like Erasmo Vale Queiroz has been cut.
Duran tests Vale Queiroz's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Vale Queiroz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Duran.
Vale Queiroz takes a swing at Duran's ribcage but misses.
Duran is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Vale Queiroz lands a nice shot that snaps Duran's head back.

and Duran counters with a three punch combo that has Vale Queiroz backing up. Vale Queiroz nods at Duran to acknowledge the strikes.

Vale Queiroz throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Duran to counter with a crisp jab.
A left lands for Duran.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Duran counters with a crisp right that sends Vale Queiroz to the canvas! Duran follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bo Duran!

After winning the bout, Bo Duran thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
