Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Lima (ranked 894 p4p, 277 weight class) and Johnny Hogg (ranked 117 p4p, 38 weight class). Hogg has chosen Styx - Renegade as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Lima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Hogg! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lima with a poor takedown and Hogg counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Ricardo Lima has been cut. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lima is defended easily by Hogg. Hogg appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Lima doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hogg counters with a crisp one two that drops Lima! Hogg thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Lima to his feet! Lima is in big trouble! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Lima. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lima closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hogg did well to prevent Lima getting side control. Hogg regains full guard. Nicely done. Lima avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hogg is looking for a triangle but Lima pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hogg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lima defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hogg has his foot on Lima's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lima works his way back into a safe position though. Lima is sitting in close to Hogg's body. Hogg has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lima is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lima is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hogg.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Johnny Hogg! Our winner, Johnny Hogg, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
