Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Barella (ranked 1895 p4p, 2731 weight class) and Kodiyak Redd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barella comes into the arena with Prova del 9 blaring out of the sound system. Sonny Barella has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sonny Barella!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kodiyak Redd!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barella misses with a double jab.
Barella swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barella lands a nice shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Barella.
Barella misses with a hook.
Barella looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Redd is fending him off so far but Barella persists. Nope, Redd circles away and we're back to standing.
Redd walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Barella checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Redd closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Barella's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Redd wants to control from the top but Barella keeps moving.
Barella seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

That was a close round but I would say that Sonny Barella will probably get the nod.

and Redd counters with an outside leg kick.
Barella shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Redd as he avoids it easily.

and Redd counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Barella is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Redd goes for a takedown attempt but Barella pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Redd blocks a head kick by Barella.
Barella throws a combination that misses
and Barella takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barella paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Barella fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Redd feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Barellas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Barella throws a series of punches but Redd moves out of range.
Redd circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sonny Barella seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barella changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Redd tries to avoid it but Barella manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Redd to the ground. Redd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sonny Barella. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barella throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Redd counters with a straight right hand.
Barella throws a right and a left that both miss.
Barella shoots for a double leg takedown but Redd sprawls well. He's pushed Barella's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Barella does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Barella throws a right and a left that both miss.

Barella throws a sloppy head kick and Redd moves out of range easily.
A nice side step and Redd releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Redd slips a jab and a cross from Barella.

Redd lands a nice hook to Barella's body. Barella takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Sonny Barella is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Redd looks to land a right hand but Barella moved out of range.
Redd scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Barella doesn't seem bothered though.

Barella tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Redd was well out of range. Poor timing from Barella.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barella is trying hard to land a takedown here. Redd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Redd with the counter takedown but Barella avoids it easily.
Barella tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Redd defends well and Barella ends up having to push Redd into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Barella shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Redd eats them both and turns towards Barella to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Barella doesn't manage to clinch there - Redd circles away.
Barella throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Redd's waist but Redd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barella off to one side.
Redd shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barella manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Redd is working to tighten his grip on Barella's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Barella has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Redd is really squeezing tight and eventually Barella passes out! Redd breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
