Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jean Francois LaFleur (ranked 485 p4p, 2565 weight class) and Dan Jones (ranked 63 p4p, 300 weight class). LaFleur comes to the cage accompanied by Rebellion. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Francois LaFleur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Jones takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
LaFleur thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jones drops down looking to force a counter takedown but LaFleur defends it well.

Jones showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Jones looking to pass the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones wants to control from the top but LaFleur keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
LaFleur keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jones is pressing down on LaFleur's thigh, looking to free his foot. LaFleur is holding on for now.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so LaFleur is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.
Jones wants to control but LaFleur is keeping him busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jones tries to pass to full mount but LaFleur defends it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but LaFleur does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Jones dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
LaFleur misses with an uppercut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
LaFleur slips under a jab.
A little feinted left hand from LaFleur on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
LaFleur misses with a hook

and Jones counters with a takedown into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but LaFleur keeps working.

LaFleur is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones is in bad spot here.
LaFleur is not going to allow Jones to sit and survive in this position.
Dan Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jones is trying to break free.
Jones trying to control but not successfully.
A bit of a pause in the action here. LaFleur controlling the positon.
Jones can't escape the position.
Despite being in a bad position, Jones is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.
LaFleur has the hooks in. Jones is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - LaFleur's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Jones tries to roll but LaFleur sticks to his back.
LaFleur really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Jones.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Jones looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
LaFleur doesn't have the hooks in and Jones manages to turn into his guard.
LaFleur will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones sitting in guard, not really doing much.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jean Francois LaFleur has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
LaFleur lands with a straight right. Jones didn't see that one coming.
LaFleur tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from LaFleur.

Jones shoots in and bounces LaFleur off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
LaFleur keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

LaFleur bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.


Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. LaFleur defends it easily.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jones is looking to sweep but instead, LaFleur has passed into half guard.
LaFleur is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position.
Jones keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones wants to control but LaFleur is keeping busy and won't allow it.
LaFleur perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Jones controls LaFleur momentarily but LaFleur frees himself.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but LaFleur is one step ahead there.
LaFleur looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jones passes into half guard.
Jones trying to pass the guard but LaFleur defending well.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jones is pressing down on LaFleur's thigh, looking to free his foot. LaFleur is holding on for now.

LaFleur actively working from the bottom here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Dan Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Dan Jones.
