PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chaikka Chai (ranked 120 p4p, 410 weight class) and Sergey Vinogradov (ranked 19 p4p, 56 weight class). Chai comes to the cage accompanied by Dead Man Walking. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Chaikka Chai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Vinogradov!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vinogradov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Chai takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Vinogradov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Chais jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Chai lands a left and a right that send Vinogradov crashing to the mat, dazed. Chai thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Chai darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Vinogradov's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Chai before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chaikka Chai!
Our winner, Chaikka Chai, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
