Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julius Lew (ranked 371 p4p, 162 weight class) and Spider Monkey (ranked 43 p4p, 17 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julius Lew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Spider Monkey!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monkey moves out of range of the body kick from Lew.
Lew attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Lew connects with a nice looking jab.
Monkey throws a big shot that misses.
Lew is looking for a counter combo.
Lew misses with an uppercut. Monkey saw that one coming.
Monkey misses with a looping left.

Monkey walks into a straight right hand from Lew.

Monkey was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Monkey. Lew shrugs it off though.
Monkey lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Monkey.
It looks like Julius Lew has been cut.
A nice leg kick from Monkey, right into the meat of the thigh.
Monkey misses with a hook.
Lew has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Monkey.
Lew takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

No joy there for Lew, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Monkey swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Lew throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lew moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Monkey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lew.
Monkey throws a nice outside leg kick.
Lew throws a good cross that connects.
Lew wants to clinch but Monkey slips to the side
and Lew takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lew tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Lew misses with a low kick as Monkey jumps back.
Monkey throws out a counter right but Lew avoids it with no problem.
Lew misses with a hook.
A punch combination from Lew misses.
A low kick from Monkey is predictable there
and Lew counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Monkey checks a leg kick.
Lew on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Monkey. Monkey obviously looking to wear him down.
Monkey lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Monkey pushes Lew away with a front kick.
Monkey throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lew stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Lew counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lew throws a hook to the side of Monkey's head but Monkey sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
It seemed like Monkey was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lew takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lew has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lew there as he acknowledges the shot.
Monkey bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Monkey connects with a crisp jab.
Monkey scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Lew checks a low kick from Monkey.
Lew misses with a lunging right hand
and Monkey counters with a right hand to the body.
Lew takes a jab right on the kisser.
Monkey looking to land some kicks to the body here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Spider Monkey dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Julius Lew's cut.

Lew throws a poor cross that misses
and Monkey counters with a crisp right hand that drops Lew! Monkey lets Lew back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Lew misses with a left hand
and Lew takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That kick from Monkey tenderised Lew's leg. Lew is trying to keep his angry face on.
Lew looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Lew throws a hook but Monkey blocks it.
Lew misses with a hook.
Monkey with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lew to score with a decent uppercut.

Monkey cracks Lew with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lew looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Monkey finish him?

Spider Monkey seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Monkey counters with an inside leg kick.
Oh Lew is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Monkey lands with a nice body punch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lew swings widly with a right hand
and Monkey counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

A very excited looking Spider Monkey made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
