Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hans Machiels (ranked 2790 p4p, 1687 weight class) and White Goodman (ranked 271 p4p, 178 weight class). Machiels comes into the arena with Rampage Anthem blaring out of the sound system. Goodman has chosen Globo Gym America Corp. as his entrance music. White Goodman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hans Machiels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, White Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodman thows a left - swing and a miss!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Goodman checks a leg kick.
Machiels misses with a straight left.

Goodman lands a hook that snaps the head of Machiels backwards.

Goodman tries to work over Machiels's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Machiels holds on and takes a little breather.

We've been hearing good reports from Machiels's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Goodman working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Goodman tries to score a body lock takedown but Machiels shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Machiels tries to stall but Goodman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machiels has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Goodman to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Machiels is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Goodman pulls down on the head and he's put Machiels to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). White Goodman!
