Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ike Goon (ranked 2081 p4p, 2259 weight class) and Cam Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 253 weight class). Cartwright has chosen Karma Chameleon as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ike Goon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cam Cartwright!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goon throws a sloppy body shot
and Cartwright counters with a series of strikes. Goon will be more careful next time no doubt.

We've been hearing reports that Goon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Cartwright ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Cartwright thuds his right hand into Goon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Goon looks to land a right hand but Cartwright moved out of range.

Goon sizes up Cartwright with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Cartwright lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Goon circles away quickly and effectively.
Goon appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Goon tests Cartwright's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Goon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cartwright is fending him off so far but Goon persists. Nope, Cartwright circles away and we're back to standing.
Ike Goon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goon misses the jab.
Goon throws a front kick that sends Cartwright stumbling back into the cage.
Goon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Goon, as that shot connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cartwright misses with a head kick.
Goon throws a push kick but Cartwright slaps the foot to one side.
As Goon backs off Cartwright throws a huge counter combo but Goon manages to avoid it all.
Goon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cartwright stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Goon throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
It seemed like Cartwright was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Goon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cartwright. That did some damage!

Cartwright takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

and Cartwright counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cartwright displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Goon throws out the jab.

Goon lands with a slapping head kick.
Goon throws a poor cross that misses
and Cartwright connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cartwright avoids a kick to the body.
A little jabbing left from Cartwright on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Goon lands with a thumping leg kick.
Goon looks to throw a body kick
and Cartwright counters with a shoot takedown. Goon fights it but they end up in guard.
Cartwright controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Let's hope that Cartwright has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Cartwright wants to stand but Goon is controlling his posture from full guard.

Cartwright pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Goon is keeping the position for now.
Goon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cartwright's guard.
Cartwright keeping moving, preventing Goon from controlling successfully.
Goon won't allow Cartwright to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cartwright shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goon but Goon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A head kick from Goon lands but Cartwright takes it in his stride.
Goon feints and as Cartwright raises his hands in defense, Goon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Goon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cartwright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cartwright controls Goon momentarily but Goon frees himself.
Goon is posturing up here but Cartwright has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Goon tries to roll out but it's too tight and Goon has to tap! Slick submission there by Cartwright!
