Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bio Frankenstein (ranked 1296 p4p, 1521 weight class) and Roderick Atkinson (ranked 169 p4p, 190 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roderick Atkinson!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frankenstein fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Atkinson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

As Atkinson tries to get set, Frankenstein tries to push him back and clinch up but Atkinson manages to avoid the attempt.

Atkinson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Frankenstein is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Atkinson to keep the fight standing.

Frankenstein has been working on his balance at The Purpose Martial Arts Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Atkinson.

Atkinson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Atkinson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Frankenstein on the side of the head.

Atkinson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Atkinson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Frankenstein seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Atkinson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Atkinson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Frankenstein tries to clinch but Atkinson moves out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Atkinson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Frankenstein eats them both and turns towards Atkinson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Atkinson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Atkinson scores with a shoulder strike.

Atkinson manages to break the clinch.
Nice uppercut lands for Atkinson. That snapped Frankenstein's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Atkinson lands a big right hand that sends Frankenstein crashing to the mat! Atkinson stays standing though and waves Frankenstein back to his feet!

Frankenstein is rocked!

Frankenstein closes the distance but Atkinson moves to the side
and Atkinson counters with a right hand from hell and Frankenstein is out cold! A vicious knockout!
