Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julius Chaney (ranked 24513 p4p, 5282 weight class) and Malachi Cantrell (ranked 502 p4p, 475 weight class). The key to victory for Julius Chaney has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julius Chaney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malachi Cantrell! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chaney throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Cantrell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chaney was covering up waiting for the punch and Cantrell finishes the takedown easily into guard. Cantrell forces his way into half guard. Chaney tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Chaney manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Cantrell keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Chaney pulls Cantrell into guard.

Chaney wants to get back to his feet but Cantrell is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cantrell stands and throws Chaney's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee asks Cantrell politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cantrell prefers to stall for the moment though. Cantrell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Chaney is trying to get back to half guard. Cantrell is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Chaney is trying to escape and Cantrell transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Chaney is forced to tap! Nice work there by Cantrell! Very nice indeed!
