Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grady Bronze (ranked 2597 p4p, 1564 weight class) and Zavian Barkley (ranked 311 p4p, 201 weight class). Zavian Barkley told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grady Bronze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zavian Barkley! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bronze fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bronze shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Barkley is trying to defend but Bronze finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bronze is taking a breather. Barkley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Bronze is thwarting Barkley's attempts to control the position. Bronze throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bronze is nestled in close to Barkley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bronze is keen to just control but Barkley is a slippery customer. Bronze is really struggling to control Barkley but he's trying to hold on to the position. Bronze missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Barkley taking some punishment here, with Bronze in his half guard. Bronze not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bronze throwing shots but Barkley is blocking nicely. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bronze lands a nice short elbow. Barkley wants to control but Bronze is keeping busy.

Bronze looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Barkley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bronze scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bronze slips a nice elbow through Barkley's hands, connecting with Barkley's forehead. Barkley is staying active underneath Bronze, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Barkley looking for submissions off his back. Barkley wants to improve his position but Bronze is controlling well.
Barkley is trying to maintain the position but Bronze is very close to passing his half guard. Bronze lands strikes from half guard. Bronze lands strikes from half guard. Bronze content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bronze looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barkley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bronze thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barkley's head. Bronze prevents Barkley from improving his position. Bronze working over Barkley with some ground and pound. Barkley looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bronze is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Bronze looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Bronze throws a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bronze is in close to Barkley's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bronze content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Bronze throws a big right hand that misses. Barkley is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bronze looking to sit in guard and control but Barkley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Bronze is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bronze lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Bronze is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barkley defends well. Barkley stays in close to Bronze's body and controls the position.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Bronze throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Bronze isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Barkley stacks Bronze on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Barkley! Bronze throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Barkley trying to control the position but Bronze is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bronze tries to improve position but can't.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Grady Bronze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bronze fails to land the takedown. Barkley throws a fast counter high kick but Bronze manages to duck under it in time. Bronze shoots in for a double leg but Barkley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grady Bronze. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barkley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bronze wants to clinch up but Barkley keeps it at a distance. Bronze gets in close and instigates a clinch. Barkley lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Grady Bronze has been cut. Bronze is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Barkley to keep the fight standing. Barkley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bronze fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barkley avoids it really well and circles away. Barkley was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Bronze misses with a takedown and Barkley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jab from Barkley. Barkley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Bronze shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Barkley counters with a lovely straight right hand! Barkley scores with a hook.
Bronze is rocked! Bronze with a lazy takedown attempt and as Bronze loses concentration momentarily, Barkley counters with a picture perfect head kick! Bronze goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Zavian Barkley! A victorious Zavian Barkley thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter. In defeat, Grady Bronze stepped up to the mic, saying 'Well I think it's about time to let the young guys take over. I don't feel the drive to fight anymore. I'm just happy I had the opportunity to fight along some of the scariest opponents TOF has to offer.'.
