Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Darius Thibodeaux (ranked 2748 p4p, 5032 weight class) and Alexander Vij (ranked 330 p4p, 503 weight class). Darius Thibodeaux has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Thibodeaux!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Vij!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thibodeaux on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A shot to the body from Vij misses
and Thibodeaux counters with a straight right that drops Vij on his ass! Vij jumps back to his feet. He seems OK to continue so we'll get back to the action.
It looks like Alexander Vij has been cut.
Thibodeaux gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Vij cracks Thibodeaux with a good jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A punch lands to the side of Thibodeaux 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Thibodeaux was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Vij throws a looping overhand right but Thibodeaux ducks down to avoid it.
A counter left hand to the body from Thibodeaux misses its target.
Vij tries to work over Thibodeaux's front leg with a kick but Thibodeaux checks it.
Thibodeaux appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Vij connects with a good right hand that stumbles Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Vij cracks Thibodeaux with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Vij throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Thibodeaux gets tackled into the ropes by Vij. Vij maintains the clinch.
Thibodeaux wants to break free but Vij has control.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Vij obliges.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thibodeaux has a couple of punches blocked by Vij.

and Thibodeaux counters with a perfectly timed counter left hook that drops Vij to the mat, face first! Thibodeaux goes to the neutral corner and waits for the referee to start the count. Vij is back to hise feet already though and looking to continue the bout! Exciting stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vij throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thibodeaux on the side of the head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Vij dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thibodeaux. That did some damage!

Vij feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thibodeauxs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
