Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Mason (ranked 3873 p4p, 3584 weight class) and Dominic Solanke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominic Solanke told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dominic Solanke! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason tries to move into range but Solanke moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Solanke has Mason up against the cage in a clinch.
Mason lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Solanke backwards. Solanke swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mason lands on the inside with an uppercut. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Solanke. Solanke misses with a punch to the body.
Solanke fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Solanke misses with a hook from the clinch. Solanke tries to work over Mason's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Mason lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Mason lands a body punch in the clinch. Mason struggles to land a body shot inside as Solanke controls his hands.
Mason blocks an uppercut.
Mason tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Solanke's elbow. A head punch blocked on the inside by Mason. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Solanke. Mason breaks from the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mason lands with a hook. Solanke tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Solanke takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Mason looks to land a right hand but Solanke moved out of range. Nice cross by Mason. Scott Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mason digs a good body shot into Solanke's ribs. Mason misses with a hook. Solanke ducked under it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Solanke uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mason. Mason misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Solanke.
Mason walks into a stiff left hand from Solanke. Solanke thuds his right hand into Mason's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Mason misses the shot to the body. Solanke doesn't manage to clinch there - Mason circles away.
Solanke uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mason. A jab from Mason misses. Mason lands a lovely overhand right. Solanke blocks a jab. Donk. Solanke catches Mason right on the button with a cross. Mason's corner calls for a 1-2. Mason obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. A slow jab from Mason misses its intended target. Mason throws a shot from downtown. Solanke moves away and avoids it. Mason comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. This has been an exciting period of action! Solanke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mason throws out the jab. Solanke looks to score with a jab to the body but Mason is just out of range. Mason swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mason ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Solanke moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mason throws a lazy right hand but Solanke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Solanke tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mason manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mason throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mason moves out of range as Solanke strikes. Mason slaps away a takedown attempt from Solanke, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mason throws a hook but Solanke avoids it easily. Mason lands a jab to Solanke's midsection. A swing and a miss from Mason. A countering left hand to the body from Solanke misses. Mason walks into a stiff left hand from Solanke. Mason throws an off balance right hand
and Solanke cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Solanke scores with a jab to the head.
Mason with a body punch. A glancing blow. A looping hook to the body misses from Mason. Solanke does a little dance to reset his feet. Solanke looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Solanke connects with a right hand. Mason shakes it off. Mason swings away with a body shot that misses
and Mason takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mason is rocked! Mason keeps the fight on the outside. Mason is looking to counter punch. Solanke tries to clinch but Mason is having none of it. The fight stays on the outside here - Solanke looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Scott Mason is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for Solanke with that takedown attempt. Mason avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mason swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mason misses with an uppercut. Solanke saw that one coming. Solanke is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mason had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Mason misses with a hook. Solanke ducked under it nicely. Mason throws a hook to the side of Solanke's head but Solanke sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mason throws out a loose jab but Solanke uses good head movement to avoid it. Solanke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Solanke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Solanke wants to counter the offense by Mason and move into the clinch position. Mason pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mason comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Mason just misses with a punch to the body.
Mason fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Solanke manages to avoid it. Solanke throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mason on the side of the head. Solanke is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Solanke blocks a jab. Mason lands a head shot. The crowd cheers as Mason lands an impressive looking overhand right. Solanke doesn't seem phased though. Mason throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Solanke moves out of range as Mason strikes. Solanke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mason paws at him with a jab and circles away. Solanke tries to clinch but Mason is having none of it. Solanke scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Mason looks to land a left hand but Solanke moved out of range nicely. Mason misses with an uppercut. Solanke ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Solanke uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mason.
Solanke tries to clinch up but Mason circles away and keeps his distance. Mason throws a hook but Solanke avoids it easily. Mason is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Solanke. Solanke tries to counter with a clinch but Mason shakes him off and moves away. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mason walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Mason pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mason misses with a right hand and Solanke counters with a straight right hand. Nice shot by Mason. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Mason dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Solanke moves out of range of the strikes. A little jabbing left from Solanke on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Solanke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mason paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mason's corner calls for a 1-2. Mason obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. We've been informed that Solanke has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Mason misses with an uppercut. A countering left hand to the body from Solanke misses. Solanke fails in his attempt to clinch. Mason stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Mason scores with a jab to the head.
Solanke is rocked! Solanke gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Mason points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Solanke wakes up just in time to hear Mason thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Scott Mason!
