Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darrell Darkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexus Argento!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darkins looks to score with a jab to the body but Argento is just out of range.
Argento uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Darkins.
Darkins lands with a shot to the body.
Darkins misses with a wild body shot.
Darkins tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Argento decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Darkins's guard.
Darkins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Argento has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Darkins to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Argento is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Darkins pulls down on the head and he's put Argento to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Darrell Darkins!
After winning the bout, Darrell Darkins thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
