Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gilbervan Soares (ranked 888 p4p, 715 weight class) and Léopold Béliveau (ranked 107 p4p, 88 weight class). Léopold Béliveau told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gilbervan Soares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Léopold Béliveau!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Béliveau throws a leg kick
and Béliveau takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Béliveau keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Léopold Béliveau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Béliveau misses with a hook
and Soares counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Soares throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Béliveau doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Béliveau scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Béliveau blocks a jab.
Béliveau looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Soares misses the shot to the body.
Soares's corner calls for a 1-2. Soares obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Béliveau dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Béliveau scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Béliveau throws a sloppy body shot
and Soares counters with a left and a right that stings Béliveau.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Béliveau lands a big head kick that sends Soares tumbling to the mat! Béliveau takes a step backwards and waves Soares back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Soares is rocked!
It looks like Gilbervan Soares has been cut.
Béliveau is stalking Soares. Soares circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Béliveau, and it's lights out! Soares really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
