Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Da Jiang (ranked 96 p4p, 615 weight class) and Menes Kai (ranked 13 p4p, 69 weight class). Kai is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Astronaut - Jin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 7 - 3, fighting out of New York, Da Jiang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Menes Kai!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jiang moves out of range of the strikes.
Jiang is looking to counter the offense by Kai and move into the clinch.
Kai goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Jiang swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Kai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kai scores with a jab. Jiang acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Kai lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jiang circles away quickly and effectively.
Jiang has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jiang throws a head kick that misses
and Kai counters with a head kick. That will keep Jiang thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jiang throws a half hearted mid kick.
Jiang takes a swing at Kai's ribcage but misses.
Kai has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Jiang changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kai misses with a looping left.
Jiang throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Kai counters with a straight right hand.
Jiang throws an off balance right hand
and Kai counters with a nice body shot.
Kai comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jiang digs a good body shot into Kai's ribs.
Jiang wants to clinch up but Kai keeps it at a distance.
Jiang takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kai takes a swing at Jiang's ribcage but misses.
Jiang tries to land a front kick but Kai steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jiang is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Kai steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jiang. That one must have hurt.
Jiang throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Jiang slips a jab and a cross from Kai.
Kai scores with a body shot.
Kai misses with a looping right.
Menes Kai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jiang connects with a right hand. Kai shakes it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Jiang.
Jiang looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jiang lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Menes Kai has been cut.
Jiang tries to work over Kai's front leg with a kick but Kai checks it.
Kai lands a nice shot that snaps Jiang's head back.
Jiang misses with a body kick.
Kai takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kai circles away from the clinch attempt
letting Kai counter with a right hand.
Jiang throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kai lands a glancing blow to the side of Jiang's head.
Jiang closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Kai! Jiang dives in looking to finish! Kai is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Da Jiang!
A relieved looking Da Jiang thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
