Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Willie Dixon (ranked 582 p4p, 738 weight class) and Small Richard (ranked 51 p4p, 65 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Willie Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Richard!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Dixon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Richard to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Dixon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Richard is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dixon.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Richard connects with a nice short shot to Dixon's temple.
Richard is nestled in close to Dixon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Richard seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Richard is working for a kimura but Dixon is defending it quite comfortably.

Dixon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Richard defends it easily.

Dixon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Richard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Richard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dixon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Richard is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've been hearing good reports from Dixon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
