PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Nakabisha (ranked 24479 p4p, 3057 weight class) and Jarrah Hooper (ranked 524 p4p, 366 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shinji Nakabisha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jarrah Hooper!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Hooper attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Nakabisha misses with a hook. Hooper ducked under it nicely.
Hooper is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nakabisha swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Hooper looks to land a left hand but Nakabisha moved out of range nicely.
It looked like Nakabisha wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

It looked like Nakabisha was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hooper.
Hooper has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Hooper is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Hooper lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Nakabisha or not.
Hooper is trying to pull guard but Nakabisha turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

We've been told by Nakabisha's head coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Shinji Nakabisha will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Hooper is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nakabisha to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nakabisha shrugs it off.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shinji Nakabisha.
