Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Munkh Tengri (ranked 566 p4p, 895 weight class) and Guilherme Gamboa (ranked 32 p4p, 58 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Munkh Tengri! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guilherme Gamboa! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tengri slaps away a takedown attempt from Gamboa, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tengri swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Tengri has been working on his boxing with his coaches at FIGHT FOUNDERS (CA) in the buildup to the fight. Gamboa misses with a takedown attempt - Tengri sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Tengri throwing a counter right hand but Gamboa manages to avoid it. Tengri tries to sprawl but Gamboa drives through with a takedown into half guard. Gamboa is keen to just control but Tengri is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gamboa throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Tengri to regain full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gamboa's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gamboa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Gamboa scoring with some ground and pound. Tengri working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gamboa. Gamboa postures up in Tengri's guard and throws a big left but Tengri blocks it. Tengri is trying to control the position but Gamboa postures up. Gamboa connects with a couple of short punches. Tengri has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gamboa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gamboa with a nice head shot there. Gamboa is looking to work some ground and pound but Tengri has wrist control. Gamboa is in close to Tengri's body, working some short punches and elbows. Gamboa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gamboa stays in close to Tengri's body and controls the position. Tengri is pulling down on Gamboa's head to control his posture. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tengri keeping moving, preventing Gamboa from controlling successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Guilherme Gamboa dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Gamboa dives in and grabs Tengri's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tengri pushes down on Gamboa's head and hops out. Gamboa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tengri sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gamboa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tengri sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gamboa somewhat. A little feinted left hand from Tengri on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Gamboa fails with the takedown and Tengri counters with a nice uppercut. Munkh Tengri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guilherme Gamboa. Gamboa fails with a takedown attempt from distance. It looked like Tengri was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gamboa. Gamboa closes the distance and clinches up with Tengri, looking for a takedown. Gamboa pushes Tengri against the cage but Tengri circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gamboa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gamboa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
