Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kawainui Perry (ranked 45 p4p, 364 weight class) and Randy Wieland (ranked 8 p4p, 55 weight class). Wieland is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ran-D - Zombie. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kawainui Perry! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Wieland! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry throws a body punch but Wieland moves out of range. Wieland throws a looping overhand right but Perry ducks down to avoid it. Perry ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Perry throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Wieland is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Perry tries a head kick but it misses.
Perry pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wieland is out of range and Perry settles back down. Wieland drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Perry defends it well. Perry looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kawainui Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wieland throws a hook to the side of Perry's head but Perry sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. It looked like Perry wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perry throws a leg kick but Wieland sees it coming and checks it nicely. Perry throws a hook to the side of Wieland's head but Wieland sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wieland just misses with a punch to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perry will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
