Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyrese Mercado (ranked 1821 p4p, 863 weight class) and Danny Vargas (ranked 185 p4p, 90 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Vargas!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercado blocks a head kick by Vargas.
An attempted straight right counter from Mercado misses the target.
Mercado uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vargas.
A little feinted left hand from Mercado on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Vargas scores with a jab to the body.
Vargas misses the jab.
Mercado throwing a counter right hand but Vargas manages to avoid it.
Vargas throws a hook but Mercado blocks it.
Vargas misses with an uppercut
and Mercado counters with a crisp one two that drops Vargas! Mercado thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Vargas to his feet! Vargas is in big trouble!
Vargas is rocked!
Are you kidding me?! Mercado ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Vargas clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tyrese Mercado!
After the fight, Tyrese Mercado was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
