Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Blue Gill (ranked 1661 p4p, 2604 weight class) and Daichi Tanaka (ranked 148 p4p, 228 weight class). Gill comes to the cage accompanied by The Enemy - Big L. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blue Gill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daichi Tanaka!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tanaka, as that shot connected.
Tanaka misses with a looping right.
Tanaka loads up on a big right hand but Gill slips the punch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tanaka.
Gill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tanaka shoots in looking for a takedown but Gill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tanaka's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gill went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Gill clobbers Tanaka with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Tanaka misses with a right hand
and Gill counters with a thumping low kick.
Tanaka throws a jab but it's blocked by Gill.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tanaka dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Tanaka looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tanaka shoots in looking for a takedown but Gill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tanaka's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Blue Gill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daichi Tanaka.
Tanaka misses with a double jab
and Gill counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gill connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Tanaka tries for a takedown but Gill sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gill throws a big counter combination but Tanaka scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Gill checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Gill connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Gill lands a big head kick that sends Tanaka tumbling to the mat! Gill takes a step backwards and waves Tanaka back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Tanaka is rocked!
Gill ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tanaka is still on wobbly legs! Can Gill finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tanaka looks to throw the jab but Gill is out of range.
Gill throws a counter high kick but Tanaka was just alert enough to avoid it.
Gill throws a shot to the body.
Tanaka throws a lazy uppercut
and Gill counters with a crisp right that sends Tanaka to the canvas! Gill follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Blue Gill!
After the fight, Blue Gill was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
