Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Swole Ricky Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Petar Popara!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Popara misses.
Popara throws a shot from downtown. Martin moves away and avoids it.
Martin fires out a quick counter leg kick but Popara just manages to avoid it.
Martin throws a wild body kick that Popara sees coming a mile off.
Popara connects with a nice looking jab.
Popara lands a big uppercut and Martin crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Martin looks OK. Popara waves Martin back to his feet!
It looks like Swole Ricky Martin has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Popara just misses with a punch to the body.
Popara throws a sloppy body shot
and Martin counters with a nice leg kick.
Martin lands a glancing blow to the side of Popara's head.
Martin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Popara.
Popara scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Popara swings widly with a right hand
and Martin counters with a crisp right hand that drops Popara! Martin lets Popara back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Martin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Martin lands a big uppercut and Popara crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Popara looks OK. Martin waves Popara back to his feet!
Popara is rocked!
Petar Popara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin connects with a solid leg kick.
Popara is still on wobbly legs! Can Martin finish him?
Martin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Popara seems to have recovered his senses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Popara. Martin does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Popara slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Popara jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It looked like Martin was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Popara.
Popara throws a hook but Martin avoids it easily.
Popara ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Martin moves away.
A little feinted left hand from Martin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Martin throws a body shot but no joy.
Popara slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Martin throws a jab when Popara was well out of range.
Popara misses with an uppercut
and Martin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Popara thinking.
Popara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Martin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Popara rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Martin counters with a straight right hand.
Martin defending well as Popara loads up on a big left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Popara darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Popara misses with a shot to the body
and Martin counters with a low kick, right behind Popara 's knee.
Popara looks winded!
A slow jab from Popara misses its intended target.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Martin cracks Popara with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Martin has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Popara to stand back up!
Popara swings widly with a right hand
and Martin counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Swole Ricky Martin!
