Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Magilla Gorilla (ranked 1425 p4p, 2782 weight class) and Felipe Montoya (ranked 127 p4p, 236 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Magilla Gorilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felipe Montoya!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya misses with an uppercut.
Montoya misses with a lunging right hand
and Gorilla counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gorilla is trying to drag Montoya to the mat but Montoya just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Montoya wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Montoya is pressed up against the cage. Gorilla has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Montoya down to the mat. Montoya avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Montoya throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Magilla Gorilla has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Montoya. Gorilla does a little dance to reset his feet.
Magilla Gorilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gorilla blocks a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gorilla takes one on the button.
Montoya lands with a nice body punch.
Gorilla shoots in and bounces Montoya off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Montoya wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gorilla manages to pass to side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gorilla throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gorilla definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Gorilla is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Montoya is just riding it out for now. Gorilla eventually gives up the hold.
Montoya is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gorilla scores with a couple of nice shots.

Montoya is looking for a sweep. Gorilla is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Montoya is looking to control Gorilla's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Montoya avoid being mounted?
Gorilla is trying to control the action in half guard but Montoya is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gorilla throwing shots but Montoya is blocking nicely.

Gorilla is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Montoya has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montoya is not content to let Gorilla control the position.

Montoya looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gorilla scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Gorilla looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Gorilla wants to pass the guard but Montoya is defending well.
Gorilla is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
We've been informed that Montoya has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Montoya is trying to maintain the position but Gorilla is very close to passing his half guard.
Gorilla content to control rather than advance.

Gorilla is working for a kimura but Montoya is defending it quite comfortably.
Gorilla is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Montoya to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Montoya is trying to control the position but Gorilla postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Magilla Gorilla will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Magilla Gorilla's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Gorilla fails with the takedown
and Montoya counters with a straight right hand.
Gorilla dives in and grabs Montoya's left leg, looking for a takedown. Montoya pushes down on Gorilla's head and hops out.
A little jabbing left from Montoya on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Gorilla misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Montoya.
As Gorilla backs off Montoya throws a huge counter combo but Gorilla manages to avoid it all.

and Montoya counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magilla Gorilla. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Montoya catches Gorilla with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Magilla Gorilla's cut is getting worse.
Montoya staying out of range there.
A little jabbing left from Montoya on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Gorilla lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Montoya looks to land a combination but Gorilla avoids it well.

Montoya stuffs the takedown attempt from Gorilla. Gorilla gets slowly back to his feet.
Montoya looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Gorilla gets a takedown into half guard.
Gorilla not landing any meaningful shots this time.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Montoya can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gorilla is pressing down on Montoya's thigh, looking to free his foot. Montoya is holding on for now.
Montoya wants to control but Gorilla is keeping busy.
Gorilla is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Gorilla takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Magilla Gorilla overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gorilla lands a nice short elbow.
Gorilla drops an elbow to the side of Montoya's head.
Gorilla missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Gorilla is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Montoya really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gorilla. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Montoya is bucking up trying to escape but Gorilla cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Montoya wants to hold on but Gorilla pushes him away.
Montoya tries to improve his position but Gorilla has taken his back! Gorilla has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Montoya tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gorilla pushes Montoya away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Magilla Gorilla!
