Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Declan McCoy (ranked 105 p4p, 119 weight class) and Chick Hamland (ranked 15 p4p, 17 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Declan McCoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chick Hamland!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy moves away from the strike by Hamland.
It looked like McCoy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
McCoy throws a hook but Hamland avoids it easily.
Hamland moves into the clinch.
McCoy gets underhooks to prevent Hamland's takedown attempt.
Hamland wants a takedown but no success here.
Hamland goes for a takedown attempt but McCoy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Declan McCoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chick Hamland.
Hamland connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McCoy momentarily.
Hamland throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McCoy's waist but McCoy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hamland off to one side.
It looked like McCoy was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hamland.

McCoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hamland on the ground.

McCoy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Hamland lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear McCoy down.

My spies in Outlier Martial Arts New York inform me that Hamland has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

McCoy is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hamland lets go of the hold and McCoy can pop his arm back in it's socket.
