Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Old Grappling (ranked 2392 p4p, 2189 weight class) and Ford Kish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grappling comes to the cage accompanied by After Dark - Old Grappling. Kish has chosen Tom MacDonald - "Dirty Money" as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Old Grappling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Ford Kish!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kish connects with a leg kick.
Grappling fails to land with a series of punches.

Grappling closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kish quickly recovers to half guard.
Kish is refusing to be controlled, as Grappling sits in half guard.
Grappling missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Kish has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Grappling is on him like a limpet, forcing Kish back against the cage.
Kish tries to work over Grappling's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kish lands with a left to the head.
Kish lands a right hand that snaps the head of Grappling backwards.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Grappling is looking for a takedown.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kish takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Grappling tries a body shot but Kish blocks it.
Kish tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Grappling's elbow.
Grappling has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kish avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kish has one foot on Grappling's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grappling tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kish swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It seemed like Kish was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Grappling drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ford Kish is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Grappling throws a body punch but Kish moves out of range.
Grappling swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kish feints the counter takedown.
Grappling throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kish is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Grappling with a body shot.

It looks like Old Grappling has been cut.

Kish lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Grappling tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Grappling tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kish's elbow.

Kish is defending well against a takedown attempt.
I was talking to Grappling's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kish misses with some punches.

Kish's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Grappling swings wildly with an uppercut but Kish uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kish has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Grappling seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Kish can turn it around.

Kish lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Grappling backwards.
Grappling goes for a takedown attempt but Kish pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kish throws a front kick aimed at Grappling's knee but Grappling avoids it well.
Grappling is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kish throws a hook but Grappling blocks it.
Kish lands a really nice looking cross but Grappling seems unphased.

Old Grappling's cut is getting worse.
Grappling misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Grappling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kish manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kish appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Grappling is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kish.
Kish feints the counter takedown.
Kish lands a head shot.
Oh Grappling is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Old Grappling's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kish lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Grappling head around and knocks him out cold! Kish hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ford Kish!
Ford Kish looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'How I feel after a win? I feel like you feel once you find a dark corner to count the money you got from that 7-11 after pointing a squirt gun in their face. Like an inner city democrat. I mean... like a criminal. Take this mic, I'm out. I get more sense from the CDC than you'.
In defeat, Old Grappling stepped up to the mic, saying 'I didn't expect this result! Congratulations to my opponent. I will train and come back stronger!'.
