Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Small Dayton (ranked 1151 p4p, 1431 weight class) and Lyman Hicks (ranked 104 p4p, 130 weight class). Hicks has chosen The Chambers Brothers - Time Has Come Today as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Dayton ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Lyman Hicks! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dayton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Hicks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dayton manages to avoid it. Dayton changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hicks looks to score with a jab to the body but Dayton is just out of range. Dayton appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Dayton tries to clinch but fails miserably and Hicks counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hicks throws a jab when Dayton was well out of range. Hicks moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hicks clobbers Dayton with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Dayton tries to clinch there but Hicks circles away.
Dayton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Dayton avoids the body shot from Hicks.
Hicks lands a nice hook to Dayton 's body. Dayton takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hicks is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Dayton rather than just go for the knockout. Hicks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dayton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Dayton appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Hicks works over Dayton 's head and body with a nice combination. Dayton has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hicks finds it's way round the side to connect with Dayton 's head. Dayton walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Hicks is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

and Dayton counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dayton . Hicks stalling against the cage.
Hicks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hicks loads up on a big right hand but Dayton slips the punch. Dayton takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hicks lands with a nice combination. Dayton backs away looking to recover.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fight moves into the clinch position. A head punch on the inside from Hicks fails to land. Hicks holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Hicks stalling.
Hicks continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Hicks tries to break the clinch but Dayton is controlling the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dayton jumps guard but Hicks stands there with Dayton around his waist. Dayton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dayton blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The referee calls for Hicks to work.
Hicks slowing the pace effectively. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hicks creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Dayton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hicks smiles and moves away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lyman Hicks dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Dayton takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hicks connects with a body shot. Dayton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dayton staying out of range there. Hicks has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Lyman Hicks seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hicks misses with a two punch combination.
Lyman Hicks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hicks stuns Dayton with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Dayton drops his hands momentarily and Hicks takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Hicks has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Hicks misses with a series of wild punches.
Dayton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hicks, pushing him back against the cage. Hicks gets through Dayton 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Hicks taking a breather.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hicks is pressed up against the cage. Dayton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hicks down to the mat. Hicks avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Hicks throws a series of strikes that have Dayton backpedaling.
Dayton 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hicks connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dayton scrambles back to his feet. Hicks misses with a double jab
and Dayton counters with a single leg into guard. Hicks didn't expect that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dayton chips away with some ground and pound.

Dayton has gone for a leg lock! Hicks slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dayton 's guard.
Dayton looking for a sweep. Not yet Dayton , not yet. Hicks throwing strikes but missing. Dayton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hicks trying to control but Dayton is working from the bottom. Hicks scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hicks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Dayton controls Hicks momentarily but Hicks frees himself.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Dayton looking for a sweep. Not yet Dayton , not yet. Hicks postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Dayton looking for a sweep. Not yet Dayton , not yet. Dayton is working hard here to advance position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dayton striking off his back but it's not causing Hicks any problems. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lyman Hicks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Danga de danga de dang - Hicks scores with a four punch combination! Hicks throws an overhand right that lands on Dayton 's shoulder, as Dayton tries to avoid the shot. Dayton attempts a counter takedown but Hicks avoids it well and moves away. Dayton fails in his attempt to clinch. Hicks throws a jab but it's blocked by Dayton . Hicks looks to score with a jab to the body but Dayton is just out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hicks with a body punch. A glancing blow. Dayton keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Dayton gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hicks scores with a jab to the jaw. Hicks fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hicks defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dayton . Hicks looks to throw the jab but Dayton is out of range. Lyman Hicks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dayton takes a shot right to the bread basket. Dayton shoots for a double leg takedown but Hicks sprawls well. He's pushed Dayton 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dayton half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Dayton dodges the punch combination from Hicks.
Hicks uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Dayton takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Hicks looks to throw the jab but Dayton is out of range. Dayton is looking to counter the offense by Hicks and move into the clinch.
Dayton pushes Hicks up against the cage in a clinch. Dayton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hicks walks away with a smile on his face. Dayton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Small Dayton . That's going to take a lot out of him. Hicks cracks Dayton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Hicks connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Lyman Hicks is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Lyman Hicks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fighters circle momentarily. Hicks darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A jab from Hicks misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Lyman Hicks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Hicks winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
