Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Pushkin (ranked 168 p4p, 325 weight class) and Time To Fight Wright (ranked 22 p4p, 41 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Pushkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Time To Fight Wright!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright looks to score with a jab to the body but Pushkin is just out of range.
Pushkin tries to clinch there but Wright circles away.
Wright lands a body shot.
Pushkin slips a jab from Wright.
Wright throws a big shot that misses.
Wright with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Pushkin is looking to clinch.
Wright drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Pushkin defends it well.
Wright misses with an uppercut.

Pushkin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wright gets back to full guard.
Pushkin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Wright is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Wright isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pushkin stacks Wright on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pushkin!

Pushkin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wright, who protects the arm well.
Wright tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pushkin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Pushkin is persistently looking for the submission but Wright is defending it well.
Wright is trying to remain composed but Pushkin is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

That was a close round but I would say that Aleksandr Pushkin will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Wright leaves Pushkin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Time To Fight Wright seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pushkin shoots in looking for a takedown. Wright tries to sprawl out of it but Pushkin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wright manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Wright has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Pushkin is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pushkin.
Pushkin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wright sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pushkin somewhat.

Wright will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
