Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Julian Bashir (ranked 775 p4p, 1705 weight class) and Mafula Kape (ranked 63 p4p, 127 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bashir might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Exodus - The Toxic Waltz. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Bashir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Mafula Kape! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bashir wants to clinch. Bashir scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Kape avoids the body shot from Bashir.
Kape moves away from the strike by Bashir. Bashir looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kape misses the jab. Bashir moves out of range as Kape strikes. Bashir tries to counter with a takedown but Kape is quick to defend against it.
Bashir closes the distance and clinches.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bashir misses with a punch on the inside.
Kape blocking some punches.
Kape stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Bashir lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Kape's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kape scores with a nice strike. Bashir dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Good shot there by Kape. Bashir uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kape has time to react. Bashir slips under a jab from Kape. Kape throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mafula Kape is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bashir throws a big shot that misses. Kape throws a body shot but no joy.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice uppercut there from Kape. Kape takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Bashir misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kape.
Bashir is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bashir ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kape moves away. Kape bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bashir lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bashir throws a hook but Kape blocks it. Bashir misses with a right hand and Kape cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bashir takes a swing at Kape's ribcage but misses. It seemed like Kape was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kape staying out of range there. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kape! But no joy. Bashir keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kape. Bashir cracks Kape with a good jab. Bashir just misses with a punch to the body.
Kape let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Bashir waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kape. A countering left hand to the body from Kape misses. Kape lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Bashir misses with a straight right. Kape is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bashir. Bashir half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Kape swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bashir defending well as Kape loads up on a big left hand.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Kape. Bashir scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bashir misses with an uppercut. Kape saw that one coming. Bashir connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kape. Kape circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Bashir moves out of range of the strikes. Good work by Bashir as he checks the leg kick. Bashir feinted with a counter takedown.
Bashir scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bashir fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bashir postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kape is trying to escape the position but Bashir is controlling the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Julian Bashir dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kape walks into a stiff left hand from Bashir. Bashir takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bashir tries for a takedown but Kape circles away easily and Kape counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Bashir uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kape. Bashir drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kape sprawls and moves away. Bashir throws a lazy uppercut
and Kape counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A swing and a miss from Kape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kape lands a body shot.
Kape takes a swing at Bashir's ribcage but misses. Bashir throws a jab when Kape was well out of range.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Bashir moves into the clinch successfully.
Kape misses with a short punch on the inside. Bashir looking for a takedown.
Bashir wants the takedown. Kape is fighting it off but Bashir persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kape's guard against the cage. Bashir postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bashir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bashir loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bashir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bashir trying to control the position from guard on top but Kape is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kape not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Bashir is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Bashir thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kape is wriggling around but Bashir manages to pass to half guard.
Bashir looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kape blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bashir. Bashir trying to control the pace.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bashir seems to be looking for submissions.
Bashir looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bashir is trying to control the action in half guard but Kape is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bashir wants to pass to mount but Kape is defending the position.
Bashir is working for a submission of some sort.
Bashir throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kape takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Julian Bashir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kape thows a left - swing and a miss! Bashir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kape was well out of range. Poor timing from Bashir. Kape fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bashir looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Bashir walks into a jab. Kape throws a big shot that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kape works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kape fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bashir manages to avoid it. Kape avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bashir moves away from the strike by Kape. Bashir drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kape sprawls and moves away. Kape fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bashir. Kape swats away the attempt to clinch by Bashir. Bashir swings for the body but Kape moves out of range.
Bashir bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bashir attempts a counter takedown but Kape avoids it well and moves away. A slow jab from Kape misses its intended target. A big right from Bashir misses. Kape swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bashir is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kape looks like he wants to counter punch here. Mafula Kape has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kape avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bashir has a takedown stuffed. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bashir. Kape throws a jab when Bashir was well out of range. Bashir drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kape sprawls and moves away. A jab from Bashir finds it's way through Kape's defenses. Bashir slips under a jab.
Kape gets caught napping as Bashir dives in and scores a takedown. Kape manages to retain guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Bashir is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Julian Bashir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kape is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bashir is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mafula Kape seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kape misses with an uppercut. Kape lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Bashir dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kape slips a jab and a cross from Bashir.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kape! But no joy. Kape throws a hook but Bashir avoids it easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bashir defending well as Kape loads up on a big left hand. Bashir appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Bashir shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bashir was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
And that's the end of the fight! Mafula Kape comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bashir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
