Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Ngozi Chai (ranked 1014 p4p, 2312 weight class) and Kenny Smith (ranked 134 p4p, 263 weight class). Smith has chosen IS THIS LOVE as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kenny Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ngozi Chai!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 46 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenny Smith!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurstr�m and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Smith swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Chai takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Chai scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

It looks like Kenny Smith has been cut.
We've been informed that Smith has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Chai swinging wildly here.
Smith loads up on a big right hand but Chai slips the punch.
Chai scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chai throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It seemed like Smith was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Smith stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Smith's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chai connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Smith scrambles back to his feet.

That has opened up Kenny Smith's cut even more.

Chai turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Chai walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Smith checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Chai counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Smith misses with a hook. Chai ducked under it nicely.
Smith slips under a jab from Chai.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ngozi Chai will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Chai lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Chai rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Smith counters with a nice low kick that buckles Chai's knee momentarily.
Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Smith does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

A nice leg kick from Smith, right into the meat of the thigh.

Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Chai is looking to counter punch.
Ngozi Chai is winning the standup battle so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Chai staggers Smith with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Smith looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

Kenny Smith's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith ducks into a a hook from Chai and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kenny Smith's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ngozi Chai!
Ngozi Chai retains his middleweight title!
An out of breath Ngozi Chai thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Kenny Smith was interviewed post fight and said 'You bastard! You killed Kenny!'.
