Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darius Ghetea (ranked 74 p4p, 103 weight class) and Rickson Caceres (ranked 10 p4p, 15 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Ghetea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rickson Caceres!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caceres jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ghetea swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ghetea gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Caceres shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Ghetea is defending against the submission attempts here by Caceres.
Caceres trying to pass the guard but Ghetea defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ghetea is controlling Caceres's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Ghetea is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ghetea has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Caceres is trying to work for a kimura but Ghetea is defending well.

Ghetea is holding on to half guard well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ghetea is looking to control Caceres's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ghetea avoid being mounted?

Caceres trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ghetea looking to hit a scissor sweep but Caceres is one step ahead there.
Ghetea managing to control the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Caceres keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Caceres steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ghetea.
Caceres with the counter takedown but Ghetea avoids it easily.
Ghetea rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Caceres counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ghetea controlling the position.
Ghetea is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Caceres is refusing to be controlled, as Ghetea sits in half guard.
Caceres felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Ghetea's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ghetea wants to free his trapped foot but Caceres is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Ghetea content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ghetea has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rickson Caceres will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ghetea lands with a shot to the body.
Caceres works Ghetea's body with a nice hook.
Ghetea throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Caceres is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Ghetea takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Caceres fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ghetea avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caceres connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Nice sprawl there from Ghetea as Caceres shoots in.
Ghetea looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ghetea scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
A chopping leg kick lands by Ghetea.
Ghetea scores with the left hand. Caceres knows he should have avoided that one.

Caceres is rocked!
Ghetea throws a low kick but Caceres moves out of range easily.
Caceres is still on wobbly legs! Can Ghetea finish him?
Caceres shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Caceres moves out of range as Ghetea strikes.
Caceres shoots in for a double leg but Ghetea sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Darius Ghetea has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickson Caceres.
Ghetea cracks Caceres with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Ghetea as Caceres shoots in.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ghetea takes a swing at Caceres's ribcage but misses.
Ghetea lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Caceres falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ghetea dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darius Ghetea!
Darius Ghetea seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
