The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Brien sizes up Matikainen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Matikainen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and O Brien cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like DaMatti Matikainen has been cut.
O Brien misses with a jab to the body
and Matikainen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
DaMatti Matikainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and O Brien counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
O Brien walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Matikainen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
O Brien lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Matikainen at a distance.
Matikainen wants to clinch up but O Brien keeps it at a distance.
O Brien was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

O Brien feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Matikainen sprawling to the canvas! Matikainen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can O Brien finish him?!

Matikainen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
O Brien lands a big head kick that sends Matikainen tumbling to the mat! O Brien takes a step backwards and waves Matikainen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Matikainen is still on wobbly legs! Can O Brien finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
O Brien explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Matikainen is breathing heavily.
Matikainen gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! O Brien gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Matikainen is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
