Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonid Zakharov (ranked 1864 p4p, 1453 weight class) and Carlton Draught (ranked 221 p4p, 185 weight class). Draught is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by New Authentic - Nightfall. Carlton Draught has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonid Zakharov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlton Draught!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zakharov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Zakharov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A nice side step and Draught releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Zakharov throws a lazy head kick
letting Draught counter with a right hand.
A nice leg kick lands there from Zakharov.
Draught moves out of range of the leg kick from Zakharov.
Draught throws out a counter right but Zakharov avoids it with no problem.
We've been informed that Draught has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Zakharov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zakharov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zakharov wants it to stay on the feet.
Draught has taken the fight to the clinch.

Draught is working for takedown but Zakharov is calmly controlling the position for now.
Leonid Zakharov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlton Draught.
Draught blocking some punches.
Zakharov tries to work over Draught's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Draught is trying to trip Zakharov. He has hold of a leg but Zakharov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Draught persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Zakharov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Draught advances position into side control!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Zakharov here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zakharov gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Zakharov holds on, trying desperately to control.
Draught punishing his opponent with strikes.
Zakharov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Zakharov won't allow Draught to sweep him here.

Draught throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Zakharov wants to control from the top but Draught keeps moving.
Zakharov stands and steps away. Draught gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Leonid Zakharov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zakharov throws a big shot that misses.
Zakharov tests Draught's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Draught fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zakharov avoids it really well and circles away.

Zakharov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The cut above Carlton Draught's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

and Draught makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Draught shoots in and bounces Zakharov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Draught looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Zakharov covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
