Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Byron Trevino (ranked 3796 p4p, 2420 weight class) and Juan Alro (ranked 383 p4p, 255 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Byron Trevino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Alro! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trevino shoots in looking for a takedown. Alro tries to sprawl out of it but Trevino keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Trevino takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Trevino feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Alro tries to land a sweep but no joy. Trevino postures up.
Trevino has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alro looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trevino won't allow Alro to get back to his feet. Alro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Trevino manages to get himself to full guard.
 The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Trevino wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Trevino is looking to stand up but Alro isn't so interested in that idea. Alro trying to control the position from guard on top but Trevino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Trevino shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Trevino is breathing heavily.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Alro is trying to stand back up but Trevino is controlling him
Alro is looking for a sweep. Trevino is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Alro is trying to stand.
Alro wants to control but Trevino is keeping busy.
Alro is trying to get back to full guard. Alro trying to control from the bottom.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Trevino looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A swing and a miss from Alro. Alro swats away the attempt to clinch by Trevino. Trevino has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alro. Trevino misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Trevino tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Trevino somewhat. Alro throws a body shot but no joy. Trevino misses with a series of wild punches.
Trevino gets tackled into the cage by Alro. Alro maintains the clinch.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Trevino is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Alro gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Byron Trevino. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alro looks to land a left hand but Trevino moved out of range nicely. Alro fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Alro fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Alro instigates a clinch. Alro can't get the takedown.
Alro manages to break the clinch.
Trevino is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Alro's half guard.
Alro kicks off Trevino and gets to his feet. Byron Trevino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Trevino walks into a left hand. Trevino uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alro.
Trevino tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Trevino somewhat. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Alro dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Trevino takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Trevino checks a leg kick. Trevino really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Trevino with a poor takedown
and Alro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Trevino won't be happy with that. Trevino bucks up and tries to throw Alro off but instead Alro has got his back! The referee is taking a good look at Trevino as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Alro!
Alro lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Trevino.
Trevino covers up after that shot from Alro.
Alro is looking to finish with some ground and pound! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alro is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Alro gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Alro gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Alro apologises and we restart here on the feet.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Trevino keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Trevino defending well as Alro loads up on a big left hand. An inside leg kick from Alro misses. A slapping leg kick lands for Alro.
Trevino changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alro tries to avoid it but Trevino manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alro to the ground. Alro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Alro with the counter takedown but Trevino avoids it easily. Alro connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Trevino momentarily.
Alro connects with a solid leg kick.
Alro fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Trevino, pushing him back against the cage.
Alro pulls Trevino into guard.
Alro has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Trevino should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Alro has tightened it up now! Trevino should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Juan Alro! After the fight, Juan Alro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
