Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Norman Boma (ranked 2178 p4p, 3699 weight class) and Christ Benoit (ranked 276 p4p, 433 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Boma might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Drowning Pool - Bodies. Benoit comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Amazing Grace kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Boma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Christ Benoit!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Boma counters with a big head kick but Benoit shrugs it off.
Boma avoids the head kick by Benoit.
Boma ducks under a wild hook from Benoit.

Benoit throws a lazy right hand but Boma sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Boma appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Benoit misses with an uppercut. Boma saw that one coming.
Boma wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boma uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Benoit.
Boma is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Benoit.
Good standup being displayed there by Boma as he connects with a hook.
Boma throws a jab but it's blocked by Benoit.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Benoit throws an off balance right hand
and Boma counters with a crisp right hand that drops Benoit! Boma lets Benoit back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Benoit is rocked!
It looks like Christ Benoit has been cut.

and Boma rattles Benoit with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Benoit tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Boma dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Benoit stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Norman Boma!
After winning the bout, Norman Boma thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
