Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Korolev (ranked 1004 p4p, 1010 weight class) and Somporn Metharom (ranked 124 p4p, 125 weight class). Korolev comes to the cage accompanied by Holding Out For A Hero (EuroMash). Metharom has chosen Porcelain - Moby as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Korolev dips to his left and cracks Metharom with an uppercut!

Metharom sizes up Korolev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Metharom bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Korolev's head backwards.

Metharom is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Korolev had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Korolev's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Metharom connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Korolev scrambles back to his feet.

Metharom catches Korolev with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Metharom, as that shot connected.
Alexander Korolev's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Metharom lands with a straight right. Korolev didn't see that one coming.
Metharom cracks Korolev with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Korolev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Metharom finds it's way round the side to connect with Korolev's head.
Korolev is rocked!
Korolev looks up at the clock. Bad move! Metharom lands a right hand from hell, dropping Korolev. Metharom pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Somporn Metharom!
