Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Gretel (ranked 666 p4p, 480 weight class) and Giacomo Bandolero (ranked 55 p4p, 45 weight class). Bandolero has chosen Bandolero as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Peter Gretel has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Peter Gretel seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Gretel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Giacomo Bandolero! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandolero drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gretel gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Gretel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gretel is not content to let Bandolero control the position.
Bandolero is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gretel sees it coming and defends easily.
Bandolero is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gretel is controlling Bandolero's position as best he can from this difficult position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gretel gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gretel holds on and takes a little breather.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Gretel has a closed guard, preventing Bandolero from standing up. Bandolero lands a couple of elbows. Bandolero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gretel works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bandolero throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bandolero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gretel has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Bandolero with a flurry of punches that miss. Bandolero has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bandolero gets to his feet - Gretel follows without any prompting. Bandolero fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gretel tried to counter with a leg kick but Bandolero avoided it. Bandolero misses with a straight right. Gretel appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Gretel misses with an uppercut. Bandolero saw that one coming.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Bandolero misses with a double jab
and Gretel counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Gretel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Gretel half committed to a counter leg kick. Gretel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bandolero on the side of the head. Bandolero connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Gretel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Bandolero fails to land with a series of punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bandolero throws a hook but Gretel blocks it.

Bandolero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gretel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gretel is trying to control Bandolero's posture but Bandolero avoids it.
Bandolero wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gretel, who protects the arm well. Gretel is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gretel is positioning himself well to prevent Bandolero advancing to mount. Bandolero thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Gretel wants to control but Bandolero is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gretel controlling the position well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bandolero winds up and cracks Gretel with a swinging punch to the side of the head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Giacomo Bandolero dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nice sprawl there from Gretel as Bandolero shoots in. Bandolero tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gretel swivels and escapes. Gretel looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Gretel throws a body punch but Bandolero moves out of range. Bandolero lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Bandolero shoots for a double leg takedown but Gretel sprawls well. He's pushed Bandolero's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Peter Gretel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giacomo Bandolero. Bandolero fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bandolero closes the distance and clinches up with Gretel, looking for a takedown. Bandolero pushes Gretel against the cage but Gretel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Gretel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bandolero connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Bandolero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gretel avoids it really well and circles away. Gretel pushes down on Bandolero's head and hops out. Giacomo Bandolero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Gretel with a jab. Bandolero shoots in for a double leg but Gretel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gretel connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Bandolero dives in for a single leg takedown but Gretel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Gretel looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Bandolero swinging wildly here.

Bandolero darts in and clinches Gretel up against the cage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Gretel has Bandolero pressed against the cage, preventing Bandolero from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Gretel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gretel swings for the body but Bandolero moves out of range.
Despite the aggression on Bandolero's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Gretel scores with a jab to the jaw. Peter Gretel is winning the standup battle so far. No joy there for Bandolero, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bandolero takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. This has been an exciting period of action! A solid leg kick lands there for Gretel.

Bandolero ducks under a wild hook from Gretel. Bandolero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gretel is fending him off so far but Bandolero persists. Nope, Gretel circles away and we're back to standing. Bandolero misses with a takedown and Gretel counters with a head kick. Bandolero misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gretel scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bandolero takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Bandolero is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gretel is just riding it out for now. Bandolero eventually gives up the hold. Gretel is pressing down on Bandolero's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Bandolero throws an elbow that misses. Gretel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bandolero's guard. Nice move by Gretel!

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Gretel is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Bandolero keeping full guard, as Gretel tries to pass.

Bandolero drives through with a takedown into Gretel's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gretel looking for a sweep. Not yet Gretel, not yet. Gretel is pulling down on Bandolero's head. It's preventing any offense from Bandolero, at least for the moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bandolero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bandolero stopping the sweep attempt from Gretel. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Gretel dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Is there anything that Bandolero can do to turn this around? Gretel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gretel looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Gretel controlling the pace. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Bandolero is looking to improve his position.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gretel fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bandolero throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gretel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Gretel. Bandolero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Peter Gretel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giacomo Bandolero. Gretel throws a body shot but no joy. Peter Gretel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bandolero is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gretel jabbing away but nothing is landing. Gretel lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bandolero's sensitive parts. A nice inside leg kick there by Gretel. That's going to slow Bandolero down. Bandolero misses with the combination.
Bandolero has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Gretel. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bandolero moves out of range of the body kick. Bandolero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gretel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter Gretel showed his dominance in that final round. I think Gretel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
