Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leroy Dukes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jesse Kidd! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch lands to the side of Kidd 's head but he takes it in his stride. Kidd looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dukes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kidd. Dukes darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
It looks like Jesse Kidd has been cut. Dukes throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Kidd's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Dukes dives in looking to finish as Kidd flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Dukes's strikes! Dukes is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Kidd's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Kidd was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leroy Dukes!
