Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Canasta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jordan Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canasta avoids the head kick by Ruiz.
Ruiz takes a swing at Canasta's ribcage but misses.
Canasta lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ruiz backs up against the cage.
Canasta checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sam Canasta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Canasta cracks Ruiz with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Ruiz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Canasta lands a jab to the nose.

Ruiz clinches with his opponent.
Ruiz misses with a body punch.

Ruiz breaks the clinch.
Ruiz walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ruiz avoids the head kick by Canasta.

Ruiz clinches up with Canasta and pushes him back against the cage.
Canasta working hard to break the clinch.
Ruiz tries a knee to the head but Canasta blocks it.

Ruiz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruiz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Canasta.
As Canasta backs off Ruiz throws a huge counter combo but Canasta manages to avoid it all.
Ruiz tries to land a leg kick but Canasta saw it coming and moves away.
Canasta misses with a double jab
and Ruiz counters with a nice body shot.
Canasta definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Canasta cracks Ruiz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Canasta scores with a three punch combo!
Canasta misses with a hook
and Ruiz counters with an inside leg kick.
Canasta lands a jab.

Ruiz is rocked!
Canasta scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Canasta swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ruiz let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Canasta scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Ruiz is still on wobbly legs! Can Canasta finish him?
Canasta pounces like a tiger and cracks Ruiz with a vicious hook! Ruiz is down but not out! Canasta follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sam Canasta!
Sam Canasta decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
