Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Kidd (ranked 1607 p4p, 1341 weight class) and Giorgi Gorgodze (ranked 194 p4p, 170 weight class). Kidd comes to the cage accompanied by Roll The Old Chariot (SEA SHANTY). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Giorgi Gorgodze!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd scores with a body shot.
Gorgodze is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kidd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kidd cracks Gorgodze with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kidd scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kidd looks to score with a jab to the body but Gorgodze is just out of range.
And Gorgodze tries to counter it with a takedown but Kidd pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gorgodze looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kidd lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kidd jabs Gorgodze right on the nose. Gorgodze blinks but takes it well.
A combination from Kidd does no damage.

Kidd throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gorgodze stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kidd throws a right and a left that Gorgodze avoids nicely.

William Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giorgi Gorgodze.

Kidd ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kidd has been working on his boxing with his coaches at 3Band MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Gorgodze tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kidd defends well and Gorgodze ends up having to push Kidd into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Kidd. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kidd.
Gorgodze takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gorgodze on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Gorgodze closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kidd to the mat! Kidd manages to get full guard.
Kidd is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Kidd is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

enabling Kidd to counter with a crisp jab.

Kidd is looking to wear down Gorgodze with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Gorgodze changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kidd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kidd wants to get back to his feet but Gorgodze drags him back down.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gorgodze is defended easily by Kidd.
Gorgodze dives in for a single leg takedown but Kidd sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kidd's corner calls for a 1-2. Kidd obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Gorgodze arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Kidd's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
