Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Surkho Dratchev (ranked 569 p4p, 585 weight class) and Wanderlei Rua (ranked 74 p4p, 76 weight class). Dratchev's entrance music is Schweine by Glukoza Nostra. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Surkho Dratchev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Rua! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua looks to throw the jab but Dratchev is out of range. Rua throws an off balance right hand
and Dratchev counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
 It looks like Wanderlei Rua has been cut. Dratchev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rua.
Rua uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dratchev has time to react.
 It looks like Surkho Dratchev has been cut.
Dratchev throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rua tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dratchev is in Rua's guard. Rua keeping moving, preventing Dratchev from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dratchev preventing the sweep. Dratchev stops Rua from standing up. Dratchev wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving. Rua looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dratchev trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dratchev wants to get up but he can't break Rua's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Rua gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Wanderlei Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rua tries to keep at a distance but Dratchev has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rua throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dratchev sees it coming and avoids it easily. Dratchev closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Dratchev misses with an uppercut. Rua saw that one coming. Rua fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Dratchev misses with a head kick.
Nice straight punches there by Rua. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rua. Dratchev throws a body punch but Rua moves out of range. Rua misses with an uppercut
and Dratchev counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dratchev has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rough House in the buildup to the fight.
Rua gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dratchev to score an easy takedown into full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rua looking for a sweep. Not yet Rua, not yet.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Dratchev wants to stand but Rua is controlling his posture from full guard. Dratchev forces his way into half guard. Rua is refusing to be controlled, as Dratchev sits in half guard. Rua wants to get back to his feet.
Dratchev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rua is just riding it out for now. Dratchev eventually gives up the hold. Rua is trying to get back to full guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dratchev is looking for a kimura here.
Dratchev trying to control from half guard but Rua is working away. Dratchev throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dratchev prevents Rua from improving his position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dratchev is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rua has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dratchev is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Dratchev prevents Rua from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fighters are battling for position here. Rua manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Surkho Dratchev dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rua misses with a straight left. Rua scores with a nice head shot. Dratchev lands a right hook to the body.
Dratchev ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rua drops his hands momentarily and Dratchev takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Dratchev looks to land a combination. Rua sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
 That has opened up Wanderlei Rua's cut even more. Dratchev lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Dratchev scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Rua ducks straight into an uppercut from Dratchev and tumbles to the canvas! It�s a flash knockdown though - Rua manages to regain guard straight away.
 Rua is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dratchev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Dratchev throwing strikes but missing. Rua keeping moving, preventing Dratchev from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rua is trying to control the position from the bottom.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Dratchev passes Rua's left leg - he's now in half guard. Rua is trying to maintain the position but Dratchev is very close to passing his half guard.
Rua looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Rua is pressing down on Dratchev's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Dratchev is working Rua over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rua looking for a sweep. Not yet Rua, not yet. Dratchev looking to pass the guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Dratchev makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rua working a defensive guard but Dratchev passes into half guard.
Dratchev is looking for a kimura but Rua is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dratchev to get the leverage. Dratchev stops Rua from getting back to his feet.

Dratchev is keen to just control but Rua is a slippery customer. Rua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rua tries to roll over but Dratchev keeps him under control. Dratchev trying to control the pace.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Dratchev uses his free foot to push down on Rua's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rua. Dratchev unloads with some shots from mount but Rua bucks and avoids them well.
Rua gets back to half guard. Dratchev trying to pass the guard but Rua defending well. Dratchev wants to take a breather but Rua is having none of it.
Dratchev is looking for a kimura here.
Still in half guard, Dratchev seems content to control.

Dratchev prevents Rua from improving his position. Rua is not content to let Dratchev control the position. Dratchev sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rua defending well though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rua throws an overhand right that lands on Dratchev's shoulder, as Dratchev tries to avoid the shot. Wanderlei Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dratchev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rua is fending him off so far but Dratchev persists. Nope, Rua circles away and we're back to standing. Wanderlei Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dratchev lands with a slapping head kick. Rua might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Nice takedown defense from Rua. No joy for Dratchev on that attempt. No joy there for Rua, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rua misses the shot to the body. Dratchev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rua manages to avoid it. Dratchev displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rua throws out the jab. Rua dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Rua lands a slapping body shot.
Dratchev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. This has been an exciting period of action! Dratchev trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rua seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Rua looking for a sweep. Not yet Rua, not yet.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Dratchev wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving. Dratchev won't allow Rua to sweep him here. Dratchev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rua's guard. Dratchev is trying to control the action in half guard but Rua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dratchev is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rua can do to turn this around?
Rua looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Dratchev is looking for a kimura but Rua is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dratchev to get the leverage. Dratchev wants to free his trapped foot but Rua is holding on for dear life with his legs. Rua is looking to control Dratchev's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rua avoid being mounted? Rua tries to roll over but Dratchev keeps him under control.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dratchev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rua keeps working.
Dratchev is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rua doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dratchev. Dratchev is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rua! Rua has given up his back here.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua is trying to stand back up. Rua trying to control the position but Dratchev manages to sink in the hooks.
Dratchev is persistently looking for the submission but Rua is defending it well.
Rua wants to get back to his feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rua is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Rua defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Dratchev's arms.
Dratchev looking to break Rua's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rua remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dratchev will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Dratchev is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Rua has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Dratchev has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Rua taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Dratchev doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Surkho Dratchev! A very excited looking Surkho Dratchev made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
