Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nakagome Kakuzo (ranked 611 p4p, 1251 weight class) and Grant Harklie (ranked 83 p4p, 154 weight class). Harklie has chosen Holycrud as his entrance music. Grant Harklie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nakagome Kakuzo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Harklie! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harklie throws a looping overhand right but Kakuzo ducks down to avoid it. Harklie lands a jab to the head.
Harklie dives in and scores a takedown into Kakuzo's guard.
Kakuzo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kakuzo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Harklie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Kakuzo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harklie is one step ahead there. Kakuzo working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kakuzo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Harklie controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kakuzo keeping moving, preventing Harklie from controlling successfully.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Kakuzo has his foot on Harklie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harklie works his way back into a safe position though. Harklie wants to pass the guard but Kakuzo is keeping the position. Kakuzo with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Harklie can't handle though.

Harklie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kakuzo's guard. Kakuzo tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Kakuzo tries to roll over but Harklie keeps him under control. Harklie moves nicely into side control. Kakuzo is not content to let Harklie control the position. Harklie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Kakuzo is looking for a sweep.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kakuzo is working hard here to advance position. Kakuzo is not content to let Harklie control the position.
Harklie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kakuzo sneaks back into half guard.
Harklie is trying for a kimura here. Kakuzo looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Harklie wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Grant Harklie! Our winner, Grant Harklie, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
