Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammy Nyla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Philip Marcus!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcus moves out of range as Nyla strikes.
Marcus throws a sloppy head kick and Nyla moves out of range easily.
Marcus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nyla.
A countering left hand to the body from Marcus misses.
Nyla has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Crapollas Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Nyla lands a lovely overhand right.
Marcus lands a glancing blow to the side of Nyla's head.
Sammy Nyla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nyla misses with a hook.
Marcus blocks a jab.
Marcus is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marcus keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nyla. Marcus does a little dance to reset his feet.
Marcus lands a big head kick that sends Nyla tumbling to the mat! Marcus takes a step backwards and waves Nyla back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Nyla is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nyla misses with an uppercut
and Marcus counters with a crisp right that sends Nyla to the canvas! Marcus follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philip Marcus!
A relieved looking Philip Marcus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
