PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Manion (ranked 2550 p4p, 2510 weight class) and Sub Zero (ranked 268 p4p, 262 weight class). Manion comes to the cage accompanied by Solid Rock. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Manion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sub Zero! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zero connects with the punch. Zero works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Manion swings widly with a right hand
enabling Zero to counter with a crisp jab. Zero looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Manion cracks Zero with a good jab. The fighters circling - Zero throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Zero misses with a looping left. Manion throws a lazy uppercut
and Zero counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Manion loads up on a big right hand but Zero slips the punch. A nice side step and Zero releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Manion thuds a left hand into Zero's body. Manion throws a jab but it's blocked by Zero. A telegraphed right hand from Manion misses the target. Manion has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Manion there as he acknowledges the shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Manion misses with an uppercut. Zero saw that one coming. Manion misses with a hook. Zero throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Manion shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zero defends it nicely.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Zero on the wrong end of a nice jab. Manion scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Manion misses with a left hand and Zero counters with a left to the body. Manion slips a jab from Zero. Manion looks to land a left hand but Zero moved out of range nicely. Zero tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Manion was well out of range. Poor timing from Zero. Jack Manion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zero throws a body punch but Manion moves out of range. Manion throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Manion fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Zero on the side of the head. Manion takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Zero, as that shot connected.
 It looks like Jack Manion has been cut. Manion moves into range and connects with a jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Manion doesn't succeed with the takedown and Zero counters with a nice uppercut. Manion looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Zero is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Manion had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Zero throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Manion throws an overhand right that lands on Zero's shoulder, as Zero tries to avoid the shot. Manion with a lazy takedown attempt and Zero counters with a left to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Manion. That's going to take a lot out of him. Danga de danga de dang - Zero scores with a four punch combination! Nice uppercut there from Manion. Manion throws a poor cross that misses
and Zero counters with a nice uppercut. Manion is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zero. A big left from Manion misses. Zero throws out a counter right but Manion avoids it with no problem. Zero scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Manion doesn't seem bothered though. Zero lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
 Manion is rocked! Zero loads up on a big right hand but Manion slips the punch. Oh Manion is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Manion misses the body punch and Zero rattles Manion with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Manion tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Zero dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Manion stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Sub Zero! After winning the bout, Sub Zero thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
