Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sebastion Lynar (ranked 336 p4p, 593 weight class) and Bobby Mercer (ranked 36 p4p, 58 weight class). Mercer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Why Can't We Be Friends by WAR. Bobby Mercer told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 35 - 26 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sebastion Lynar! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 34 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Mercer! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynar takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lynar with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mercer to score with a decent uppercut. No joy there for Mercer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mercer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lynar throws a right hand that misses
and Mercer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A nice leg kick lands there from Mercer. Mercer throws a combination that misses and Lynar counters with a lovely straight right hand!
 It looks like Bobby Mercer has been cut. Lynar throws an overhand right that lands on Mercer's shoulder, as Mercer tries to avoid the shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lynar takes a swing at Mercer's ribcage but misses. A nice side step and Mercer releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Lynar on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Mercer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mercer is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Lynar misses with a body shot
letting Mercer counter with a right hand. Lynar swings and misses with a shot to the body and Mercer counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lynar's knee momentarily.
Mercer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Mercer content to stall in guard here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mercer throws a big right hand that misses.
Mercer stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Lynar has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Mercer manages to get his head free but now Lynar has transitioned to an armbar! Mercer grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Lynar! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sebastion Lynar! Sebastion Lynar retains his lightweight title! Sebastion Lynar tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. The defeated Bobby Mercer had this to say: 'I was kind of looking forward to a rubber match Diogo, but I'll take it as a sign. I am officially retiring from fighting. What a ride it's been Dynasty! The best org out there! They're at the tippy top, but really they're only half way up! Thank you for the opportunities & thank you to the fans'.
