PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Surkho Dratchev (ranked 101 p4p, 150 weight class) and Mitch Kingston (ranked 16 p4p, 20 weight class). Dratchev kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Schweine by Glukoza Nostra. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Surkho Dratchev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mitch Kingston!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dratchev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kingston! But no joy.
Dratchev throws a low kick but Kingston moves out of range easily.
Kingston let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Dratchev lands a two punch combo.
Kingston takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Dratchev throws the kick towards the body but Kingston avoids it.
Kingston throws an overhand right that lands on Dratchev's shoulder, as Dratchev tries to avoid the shot.

and Kingston counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Dratchev turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Surkho Dratchev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kingston avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Despite the aggression on Kingston's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dratchev goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kingston rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dratchev's guard! Nice work there by Kingston!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kingston counters with a nice right hand that sends Dratchev toppling to the canvas! Dratchev scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kingston finish him?!
