Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steel Adams (ranked 1039 p4p, 1656 weight class) and Pacome Thibodeaux (ranked 110 p4p, 176 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steel Adams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pacome Thibodeaux! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adams shoots for a takedown but Thibodeaux saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Thibodeaux throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been hearing reports that Adams has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Adams manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Thibodeaux on his heels. He'll look to pass Thibodeaux's guard now, I'm sure. Adams is looking to work some ground and pound but Thibodeaux has wrist control. Adams engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Thibodeaux really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Thibodeaux wants to improve his position but instead Adams has moved into half guard.
Adams performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adams seems to be working for a kimura but Thibodeaux defends the submission attempt. Thibodeaux wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Thibodeaux is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Adams working Thibodeaux over with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thibodeaux wants to stand back up but Adams manages to pass into side control.
Adams is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thibodeaux has escaped the position, nice work there.
Adams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Adams cracks Thibodeaux with a big elbow.
Adams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thibodeaux, who protects the arm well. Adams trying to control the position but Thibodeaux is working away.

Adams is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thibodeaux has escaped the position, nice work there.
Adams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Adams misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Thibodeaux trying to control but Adams flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Thibodeaux wants to escape the position.

Adams patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Adams trying to control.
Adams working for a choke but Thibodeaux is defending well. Adams connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Thibodeaux to escape the position.
Adams lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Thibodeaux hold on?!

Adams is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Thibodeaux knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Thibodeaux for a finish.
