PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Pervitin (ranked 3669 p4p, 4358 weight class) and Logan Potters (ranked 131 p4p, 141 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mr Pervitin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Logan Potters!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potters closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pervitin is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Pervitin is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Wanis Combat Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pervitin trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Potters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pervitin sprawls well initially but Potters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Pervitin pushes Potters off looking to stand but Potters dives back in and keeps control.

Potters is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pervitin feints and as Potters raises his hands in defense, Pervitin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Potters shoots in and bounces Pervitin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Pervitin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Potters defends it nicely.

Pervitin has hold of one of Potters's legs. Potters is fighting the takedown attempt but Pervitin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pervitin perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pervitin moves nicely into side control.
Pervitin happy to just control the position for now.
Potters tries to bench press Pervitin off him but Pervitin keeps the position.

Pervitin takes a little break here. Potters wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Pervitin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pervitin tries to advance to mount but can't.
Potters manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Pervitin is looking to escape.

Potters seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pervitin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Potters postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pervitin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Potters, into his guard.

Pervitin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Potters on his heels. He'll look to pass Potters's guard now, I'm sure.

I would just about give that final round to Logan Potters.
I think Potters has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
