Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sebastion Lynar (ranked 213 p4p, 1195 weight class) and Amari Howell (ranked 27 p4p, 128 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 37 - 26 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sebastion Lynar! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amari Howell! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howell gets a takedown into half guard. Howell working the head and body with strikes. Lynar has hold of Howell's hands but Howell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Howell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lynar sees it coming and defends easily. Howell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lynar is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Howell jumps into side control! Lynar is looking for a sweep. Howell working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Howell lands a nice forearm strike. The ground and pound from Howell seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Howell is looking to take a break and control but Lynar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Howell grinds an elbow into Lynar's temple.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Howell scoring with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Howell lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lynar down.

Howell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lynar has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Howell but great work by Lynar. Howell sneaks back into half guard. Howell tries to get to full guard but Lynar has control of the leg. Lynar wants to take a breather but Howell is having none of it. Howell is in trouble now - Lynar has advanced to mount!

 The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lynar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Howell has worked his arm free - good work by Howell!
Howell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Howell is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lynar has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lynar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Howell has escaped the position, nice work there. Howell tries to improve position but can't. Howell is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lynar off and has taken his back! This has been an exciting period of action! Howell is hanging on to Lynar's back as he tries to escape.
Howell is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lynar defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Lynar covers up after that shot from Howell.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Lynar covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Howell is looking for the choke from the back position but Lynar is controlling his hands well.
Howell is persistently looking for the submission but Lynar is defending it well.

Howell has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Lynar has freed his hand and lives to survive another� well, another couple of seconds at least!
Well, with Howell on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Lynar is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Howell is trying to stick to Lynar's back but Lynar is turning into Howell. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Howell's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lynar. Howell told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Howell wants to sweep but no luck. Howell controls Lynar momentarily but Lynar frees himself. Lynar is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Howell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lynar wants to control from the top but Howell keeps moving.
Lynar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Howell controls Lynar momentarily but Lynar frees himself. Lynar's corner is telling him to maintain position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Amari Howell dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lynar throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Howell looks to clinch and Howell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Lynar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Howell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Howell landing some decent shots from guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Howell wants to control from the top but Lynar keeps moving. Howell is in close to Lynar's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Howell pushing down on Lynar's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Lynar is trying to maintain the position but Howell is very close to passing his half guard. Howell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Howell looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Howell thows a huge punch but Lynar dodges it nicely.
Howell is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lynar defends it well. Howell misses with a head shot. Lynar uses the momentum to regain guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Howell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Howell trying to control the position from guard on top but Lynar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Howell content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Howell postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Howell wanted to stand there but Lynar had control of the position. Lynar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lynar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Howell defends it easily. Lynar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Howell chips away with some ground and pound.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Howell stands up over Lynar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Howell distracts Lynar with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Lynar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Howell is aware though and is defending well. Howell pushes down on Lynar's leg and manages to get into half guard. Howell is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lynar! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Howell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lynar is looking to escape. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Howell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Howell connects with a bit shot that sees Lynar covering up! More strikes from Howell and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Howell is our winner by TKO!
